Battery duration in accurate for activities

I put my watch in extended power mode for running activities where in Garmin connect it tells me that I have significantly more hours than when I look on the watch itself even though both have the same settings so it’s not a pairing issue. I was wondering what one is the correct one and if there is a fix for it to display the correct battery life.
