I was interested in getting the fenix 7 standard edition to pair with the inreach for long hikes with no cell service. I was wondering if youre able to set points or change routes when on trails without service, or if it only works with pre downloaded maps. It feels pointless to get it over just having the AllTrails app subscription if its not a genuine offline satellite gps. I mainly want to be able to reroute/ set new routes while on trail and be able to see how far those routes ive set are so i know if i have time to do them. Also wondering for personal opinions on whether or not the saphire model with multiband would genuinely be worth the extra $250.
Im really getting into long hikes and would love to be able to start camping / backpacking without worrying about navigation and sos ability.
Thanks for any info!
