Post Body

Hello everyone! As many of you guys saw recently, there were a (few) post about some fellow redditors walking 100,000 steps in one day. Soon after, I tried doing the same while wearing my Google Pixel Watch and well..... It was a disaster lmao. I stopped at around 40k steps because my watch almost died from full. Since that day, I don't know what it's been, but I have been growing dissatisfied with the watch, and I really miss the metrics that Garmin gives you. While the watch is great at being a smartwatch, I understimated how much I would miss the data, tracking, and battery life that my old Forerunner 245(no music) had. Currently, I'm getting 1.5 days at most with my Pixel Watch, but me being me I get irritated if I see it below 40% so it requires a daily charging routine.

On the other hand, my 245 (which I still have, just don't use it daily) had amazing battery life, was even better as a running watch, but the connectivity features felt.... Lacking. I would get notifications minutes late, phone calls were weird w/ how it worked with my phone. When I got the Pixel watch I thought it was going to be a Goldilocks situation. Enough smartwatch and some decent activity tracking.... Until I dealt with Fitbit. God Fitbit has been terrible, and it's even worse when I get charged for it every month.

But, while I wouldn't mind jumping back in with my trusty yet flawed 245, a recent Garmin sale and my birthday coming up has me thinking.... Is the difference between a 245 and a 265s big enough to justify forking over the money for a new watch? I like the AMOLED, but does the battery life I love and trust affected badly?

Any pros and cons that people who have used both can enlighten me with would be appreciated. I am also open to the regular 265, but I prefer the S because it's smaller. I've also been eyeing the 965, but I don't know if it would be overkill. Mainly runner, cycle once a week, and I've been retraining to beat my half marathon time (1:55)
