Hi all. I have a Foretrex 601 and I noticed that if I clean the track and let it record from 0% track memory used, even if I am inside the house with no signal reception and with compass turned off, it still increases the used memory quite quickly, reaching 99% after just a few hours. Connecting the GPS to the computer and examining the CURRENT.GPX file shows it's practically empty other than the headers. What exactly is that memory usage? Is it real? What is the longest track that you've managed to record on the field with Foretrex 601? Does it last more than, say, 9 hours of movement?
