Hi all - have a Chamberlain / Liftmaster 3280 Formula 1 opener that just yesterday started acting quite odd. Meaning it won’t open/close by remote, sort of.
- control panel operation works (wall button)
- liftmaster / MyQ Wi-Fi controller works (essentially a universal remote tied to an app)
- remote that came with opener works, sometimes. Replaced batteries and re-paired with opener to be safe.
- home link in our cars does not work.
Yesterday my wife experienced it when she got home from work, couldn’t get in the garage via home link (in a 2021 Toyota). When she got her car in the garage it started working again, only to then stop again this morning.
Today it hit me. I was able to close the garage from my car (2022 Toyota) and 10 minutes later when I returned it did not work.
We reset and re paired homelink on both cars as well.
Also ensured the lock function was not enabled on the wall panel.
Last thing I can think of, we have the exact same Christmas light setup as last year, but I unplugged them just in case. No change.
Maybe something on the opener is failing? Any other reasonable possibilities?
Sounds like a new frequency is disrupting the remote. Change light bulbs or add any appliances lately?
