Questions on Drawings from Manufacturer

Alright this is for my fellow techs out there. These are drawings from the manufacturer - says overall height of the new door Is 17’ 10” however the opening is only 14’ x 14’.
Why would they include an extra 30” of headroom from chain hoist to the bottom of the hood ? Doesn’t make any sense to me lol
