The only way my garage door closes is if I hold the wall-mounted button.
Post Body

Model is a LiftMaster 041AB050-2M.

For a few years now I've had to fiddle with the sensors (cleaning/adjusting) almost daily to make it so I can just press the remote switch to close the door.

I am now at a point where as soon as I press the remote switch or the wall-mounted switch, the opener flashes its lights and clicks a couple times, and that's it. The door doesn't even budge. The only way for me to close it is to park my car outside the garage, walk back into the garage and then hold the wall-mounted button down until it closes. If I let go at any point it goes right back up. This does not work with the remote switch.

One thing I did notice is that before the goddamn thing gave up, it would only reliably close when it was dark out. That's why I figured the sensors were the culprit, but I don't know what else I can do with the damn things.

If you have to hold the wall station, it’s a photo eye issue.check the connections and wires, or the eyes might be bad
