Door opens 3-inches and stops… sometimes. Holding button allows it to open.
Post Body

Just like the subject says, I push the button on remote or wall and the garage will open a bit and stop. I push the button again and the garage closes. If I hold the button on the wall, and one of my remotes, the garage will open normally. Holding the button on the other remote doesn’t solve the problem.

No issue with with closing the door at the wall or remote. The door may feel a little bit heavy when lifting and closing by hand but it doesn’t feel significant.

It’s an old Genie overhead track opener with metal panel door. Opener I’d likely 20-30 years old but it looked old when we bought the house 10 years ago.

Any advice on things to try?
