The Qun is actually trans friendly in a very sexist way.

Krem is a man because he is a warrior. You cannot be a woman and a warrior. Instead of regular society deciding that means that if you’re born female you’ll not be allowed to fight, the Qun decided you can fight but you’ll be considered a dude.

The first game has Sten get into a runaround with a female warden as he gets confused. If you insist you’re a warrior he’ll say you’re a man. If you insist you’re a woman he’ll say you’re not a warrior. If you insist you’re a woman and a warrior it’ll take some high approval and end game character development to accept it. Tbh I do think BW was aiming for regular sexism in DAO but managed to expand on the Qun and transfolk in a way that didn’t contradict the first game. In DAI Iron Bull and Cassandra have dialogue where he skirts the issue when Cass asked him if he thinks she’s a man.
