i7-7700HQ quad-core (2.8ghz, Turbos up to 3.8ghz) I have mine stable undervolted to perfection, -125 and -80-1 mVolts on the CPU and IGPU (Intel HD 630). So thermal throttling isn’t something I deal with.

Intel HD 630 IGPU, 0.35mhz-1.11ghz (my computer is able to get the maximum performance out of this IGPU, due to a high TDP, L3 cache, Dual-Channel Ram and undervolting.)

GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 (stable overclock of 186Mhz on core and 840mhz memory clocks respectively.) This Card performs very similar to a RTX 4050 GPU in late 2024, minus ray tracing. It has a higher 256 bit memory bus and 2GB more in VRAM. So it can outperform it in certain applications.

64GB TeamGroup Elite Laptop DDR4-2400mhz Running in Dual Channel. 14-14-14-33 are my timings.

FikWot FN501 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD, PCIe Gen3x4, 3D NAND TLC, and SLC Cache. My particular PC can reach the maximum speeds for this SSD, so I get 3500MB/s write and 3150MB/s Reads.

HGST 1TB SATA HDD 2.5 6GB/s 7200rpm, 150 MB/s and 140MB/s on the reads and writes respectively.

SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXCâ„¢ UHS-I CARD - 2TB, V30, A2. It is a High Temperature gaming/ professional grade card that has been really good. My internal SD card reader can only push the card to 34MB/s and 30MB/s on reads and writes. (If you buy a higher end SanDisk QuickFlow USB 3.0 card reader, which I did. You will get 200MB/s and 155MB/s on reads and writes.)

Killer(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX1675x 160MHz (Intel 210NGW), Bluetooth 5.3, this is a great upgrade for your wireless/bluetooth card if you have an older gaming rig like mine.

LAN Killer Gaming Network E2500 for Ethernet.

USB 3.0 x 2, USB 2.0 x 1, USB 3.1 Type C *1, HDMIâ„¢ (supports 4K@60hz), mDP 1.2 x1. Headset AMP Gold Flash jacks, Card Reader is a Realtek 2.0 (HC/XC). Dynaudio Tech Speaker *4 Woofer *1

6-in-1 Ultra-Thin Portable External DVD/CD/RW Burning/Ripping/Recording, with a Full Size SD card slot, USB 3.0 x1, USB 2.0 x1. USB Type-C x1. The cables for connecting to a laptop/desktop are USB 3.0 and USB Type-C. It is powered by the laptop/desktop.

17.3" FHD, Anti-Glare Wide View Angle 120Hz 5ms 94%NTSC, 1920x1080 (16:9) Screen

6 cell (51Whr) Battery (I can get 2 to 3 hours of battery life depending on what I’m doing). 230 Watt Power Adapter.

Windows 11 Home Edition. This computer’s motherboard actually has TPM 2.0. So Updates on Windows 11 function normally for me.

Despite this computer being 8 years old. It still feels like a very high end premium machine all these years later. Rarely do I run into a game, where I can’t max out the settings at 1080p and a smooth 60 to 120FPS. I’ve seen some recent post on here from people buying laptops with these specs. So I wanted to make a post celebrating older gaming laptops that have been upgraded.
