Hey all
My old laptop is on its last legs (today it's been doing the 'default gateway is not available' thing a lot), so I asked around a few weeks ago to try and figure out a good gaming laptop to go with
I honestly don't know much about computers, so I've had to rely on friends and acquaintances to get to this point
I ended up with a MSI gaming laptop recommended highly from a friend of a friend, which on-paper should meet all my needs. I ordered it from Newegg and waited.
When the laptop came in, the box was slightly messy and had a hole or two in it, nothing too crazy. I turned on the laptop and was met with what looked like light bleeding through the top left edge of the screen.
After talking to a few friends about it, I ended up sending it back to be replaced, with the understanding that it must've gotten knocked around in transit. Newegg couldn't give me much of a guarantee that this wouldn't happen again, but I'd always heard good things about Newegg, so I tried again with them.
The replacement came with a huge dent on the corner of the box, as well as some more damage on that side.
Heartbroken, I let Newegg know what happened, and went ahead and started the laptop to see if it was any better.
It had the exact same issue. It even appears to be in the exact same spot on the screen.
So either MSI has a known screen defect, or Neweggs packages keep getting struck in-transit in such a way that it causes this, or they might've just sent me the previous laptop as the "replacement."
I'm getting it refunded and getting my money back. Gonna go elsewhere.
What... happened? Is Newegg just not a good site to use these days? Should I use Amazon or even go in-store to Best Buy instead?
It's been setback after setback in my life lately, so this is just.. this just wrecked me today.
Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you for reading.
