Looking for laptop for gaming/ school degree in IT

Lookin for laptop to run anything that’s out or coming out in next few years, and I can use in school to get a degree in IT or something similar. I’d like to stay under or around $ 1500 if it’s worth it or a great deal I would be able to justify spending $2000. Then not regret it later.
Looking for suggestions on where to look?
