AMA: We're Limited Run & WayForward, and we ported the Game Boy Color Shantae to Switch!
Post Body

EDIT: We've gotta dash, but we may come back to answer more questions as time allows! Either way, thanks everyone for chatting and hope you are having a great day.

What's up, r/games?

We're some folks from the teams at Limited Run Games & WayForward, and we ported the original Shantae for Game Boy Color to Switch this year!

If you don't know: Limited Run is a publisher and retailer that creates physical editions of beloved games new and old. We've worked with the renowned devs at WayForward to create physical editions of many of their games, including nearly every Shantae game, River City Girls, Vitamin Connection, Mystik Belle, Mighty Switch Force!, and the upcoming Mummy Demastered.

We'll be here to answer your questions from 3-4pm ET about working with a GBC game in 2020, making physical games, the Shantae series, and anything/everything in between. Here's the team answering questions:

  • Joe Modzeleski (Project Developer at Limited Run): u/LimitedRunGames
  • Dimitris, aka ModernVintageGamer (Programmer with Limited Run): u/ModernVintageGamer
  • Matt Bozon (Co-Creator of Shantae and Writer/Director of the Shantae series): u/Mr_Bozon

If you like what we do, check out our subreddit over at r/limitedrun, join our Discord server at discord.gg/limitedrungames, and (of course) buy our wares at limitedrungames.com. If game preservation is your bag (and it should be), check out our friends at gamehistory.org. Now we'll stop doing plugs and start answering questions!
