To those who have it, how is Etrian Odyssey Mystery Dungeon?

I love both the Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon series, so I bought this game the day it came out. However, it got overshadowed by a bunch of other game releases, so I never did get to playing it.
I don't think I've seen anyone really talk about the game, but I also don't remember anyone saying it was bad at all. So those who've played it, how fun is it? Why didn't it get much attention?
