Post Body

Hey guys. I've been wanting to create a small gaming group, where we would have fixed gaming night(s) as well as having just random sessions whenever/whoever is available at that time. Why I want to have to such community is that, life can get busy here and there, and it is not realistic to expect everyone to be able available and to show up to our gaming sessions all the time, therefore having a a small circle of friends who are into same type of games could give us the chance of playing together almost whenever we want, in a sense.

A little bit about me:

I've been gaming since Konami's Contra was super popular, and I'm almost 30, so I'm strictly looking for players in the same mind/age range. (So something in between 25 - 35 years old, who just want to have a chill time after a long day at work or so would be a rough definition of it.)

I'm a 3D modeler, which pushes me to learn about the techniques that are used in game dev scene and it is something that I enjoy talking about, since we also heavily rely on asset optimization at my work place and other similar things that are used in the scene, even though I am not working in the game production pipeline. I've been producing music for half of my life, professionally in these days one can say, but it's just a side thing, and gotten in & out of so many bands, mostly metal, so that's also something I am very passionate about I could say.

I moved to Germany relatively recently, and have been learning German, so if language learning is also something you do currently, this could be something that we can help each other out with as well. Even if you are just learning another language, we could just exchange how our language learning journey is going with each other.

And here is an important piece of information: I had tried my chance with this sub in the past, and without exaggeration, every single time, the sessions or the connection we tried to build just fizzled out. Or I've been messaged, with a list of games people would like to play but nothing else, not even a "Hi!" or their name, so here, as a 'lessons learned" approach and to avoid that, I'll kindly ask you to tell me a few stuff about yourself, beside gaming; so I know that you actually read this post and are eager and capable of keeping a conversation going. I hope this doesn't sound rude, but my experience just showed me that if people couldn't be even bothered to write a sentence and just reply with one words, it's not possible to hold gaming sessions, or work as a team in games with them.

Just to repeat what I said, I am after building a friendly community, rather than "Yo, I'm available in the next one hour and just looking for someone to fill that empty spot" type of network. I'd like to keep this community small, so maybe up to 12 people for time being and we'd see how it would go from there in the future and if somebody is inactive majority of the time, the active members could hold the right of removing that person from the server.

Games that'd be on focus:

I want this community to be heavily co-op, mostly "our team VS AI" focused, and the list I'll be sharing below will be a reflection of that. There are some co-op games in the list that could be considered old, but I think not everyone probably had the chance to play them in the past, so it's good to have "old" games as well I think. And I'd be open to add even older games such as GR Future Soldier, if we can find a hassle-free way of setting these games' online functionalities up. Later we can add more games such as Arma (maybe), but personally I do not have the time to invest learning all those little details in such extensive game(s)/sim(s), so I'm leaving such games out. I am aware this is a small list, but for the time being, I think it could give us enough room to get to know to each other, and in the future we could expand it more and more based on the community feedback.

  • The Division 1 & 2
  • Ready or Not
  • Left 4 Dead 2
  • Gauntlet

I have recently finished GR: Wildlands and would be down to play that area defence mode (I believe it's called "Guerrilla mode"), if you are familiar with the game. I would be open to add more and more games in the future as I said, if we can develop a foundationally strong community. I have major interest in other co-op games such as GTFO, but for the time being I don't find it attactive buying a game just for the sake of "Maybe we could play it sometime." or to experience something like playing it only one or two sessions, and the connection fades. If you already have these games, and what you read here sounds interesting, please send me a message. There's no server or anything in that regard yet. I simply want to see how many people out there with similar mindset.
