Join us in Extra Life!

Extra Life is a charity drive benefiting children's hospitals. Participants sign up to play games of their choosing for 24 hours and recruit sponsors who donate for each hour played. This is an opportunity for our community to have some fun and get to know each other while contributing to a worthy cause.

There are many ways to participate. Sign up to stream a game, sponsor another player, help recruit sponsors, or just hang out and have fun! Game day is scheduled for November 7, 2015, but if you can't play 24 hours then no problem. You can fulfill a 24-hour pledge to play over as many days and on any dates that are convenient for you.

Community engagement is the main goal. We’d like the community to get to know each other, hang out, chat or play games, just have fun. Share your ideas for what you’d like to see over the course of Extra Life gaming or future events. Want the community to vote for certain games or genres? Should mods schedule certain days and times to stream or play together? What about the community colluding to give out joke-y award titles to participants? We want your thoughts!

How to stream for charity

For those interested in the charity drive, sign up at Extra Life and start thinking what you’ll need and what you want to do. You may also want an account on Twitch to stream from. Check out their guides for Open Broadcast Software and XSplit Broadcaster for streaming software.

Regular Ghazi users can also contact moderators or drop a request in this thread if they’d like to join our Extra Life team, Ghazelles Play Games. Our Twitch channel by the same name will hopefully get to host many of you streaming. Plenty of mods are planning to stream too and we hope you’ll join us.
