Is Michael Bay simply an exploitative hack or a brilliant social satirist? His movies gross in the hundreds of millions yet tend to be failures on a critical level.
Whilst he tends to use plenty of quite frankly racist and sexist stereotyping, it could be that he's holding up a mirror and giving the people what they want. If what they want involve caricatures of minorities and lingering shots of an oiled-up Megan Fox, then what does that say about society at large?
