GBA 001 Backlight Mod Problem
Post Body

So, I got a backlight modkid (a screen and a 40 pin cable adapter) off of ebay from seller godofgaming.

Everything came packaged nicely so, I tried to install the screen he send me and connected everything right, but, the problem with it was the screen was really faded, like, the Game Boy logo on start up was very faded despite the brightness of the screen being correct

This was my first snag, so, just to make sure it wasn't the screen, I put the new spare screen in my AGS 101 SP, and it worked perfectly and had all the brightness settings working fine. So just on a whim, I put the original AGS101 screen in the regular GBA 001, and it worked perfectly, I don't know what was up with the screen he sent me but I decided to put the ags101 screen in the AGB-001 permanently

Everything was fine, but, the problem that hit me that I can't fix has to do with the ribbon adapter between the AGS101 screen and the AGB001 mother board

The adapter no matter how I place it, creates extra space in the GBA casing so despite just barely being able to close the shell together, its clearly not sitting flush because theres about a quarter (coin) size thickness that shouldn't be in the casing now due to the ribbon adapter being there and I'm flat out of ideas in terms of what to do

All other tutorials I've seen never mention that being a problem.

Are some ribbon adapters thinner or easier to work with.

Has anyone else had this problem.

I'm so close, the GBA turns on fine and looks nice, I need to center the screen a little but it looks just fine, its just the case not closing right, it makes the L/R buttons and the side plastics jiggle a little and its clearly too much pressure on the screws

Any help is much appreciated
