I know Mat has proven how fast characters like Sonic are, but something bugged me. We all know the time stop trope, someone moving so fast it makes time appear frozen. We saw it in Sonic, X-Men. My favorite is Over the Hedge. Hammy just calmly walking through the chaos, moving things and having fun. We see lasers emerging, so Hammy is moving at about 99% the speed of light. But during his scene he spends it just calmly walking. In the bar fight in Sonic even though time appears frozen, we still see him moving super fast. Quicksilver does it too, move super fast within the frozen time. We should see them calmly walking like Hammy. So they’re moving super fast on top of already moving super fast. So how fast are they moving? They’ve got to be approaching the speed of light.
