Post Body

As a former theatre techie I feel for both sides of the light debate, however, mirrors and low grade LEDs will do the job just fine. No need for the $800. If you have a ground based stage light with a scoop arrayed up or a standing stage light angled to each stage left and right projecting onto a set of mirrors there is no need for the $800 film shooting lights. Again I don't know tye space they are working with but as a former stage manager and spotlight technician literal smoke, mirrors, shades and gells were my speciality. As long as the light arks overlap, indirect and adequately powered an umbrella light like the one Matt is describing really isn't necessary. Yes it will still cost them more than $20 a light but more like $85 a light (theres really no need for more than 3 well positioned) and $15 to $30 for mirrors. Again it depends on the space and the angles. But mirrors are cheaper than lights. And if not LEDs gel lights are dirt cheap and widely available due to retrofitting.
