As an ex gamestop employee, and still having loved ones who work at Gamestop . im sorry the company is not only ignoring you guys but finally showing its true colors. That we are no more than walking dollar signs

I posted this as a comment on another post but i felt like alot if you could take thisbjdea and tweak it fir your nornal daily store traffic.

im reminded of something that happened to me at gamestop a few times.

This is a true story and maybe it will help you all and give you and idea how to deal with just browsers vs people "needing" to go in.

When i first became and SGA i worked in a gamestop next to Wal-Mart in MA. Many times the plaza would randomly lose power (snowstorm, thunder storms, power grids, idiots driving into power poles).

Of course despite having no power, and most times an ETA of it bot returning for 24 hours, we were not allowed to close. Even though we couldn't do anything. Maybe small stuff during daylight but nothing we couldn't take past the windows and doors.

One time the wind was so bad,that wheb someone opened it, so blew the door so hard. it broke the hinge and the couldn't stay closed unless locked

So we always took initiative , we locked the doors put up a sign and basically said somethibg along the lines of.

"Still open, door broken/power out , just knock , only one person at a time"

Again just an idea. Maybe add "serious shoppers only" or something

Your anger and frustration are very justified and you have every right to be upset

Don't take your anger out on guests. Its not thier fault that cooperate is being shitty. Yes even joe call of duty and micheal Madden. That kid buying the Pokemon game doesn't know what's going on.

Honestly if anything just do the bare minimum. Smile be nice. especially in a time like this. If they ask for help give it. If you don't wanna approach them thats fine. Let them come to you if they need you.

At the time of purchase just be you, maybe don't offer the extra 50 items we normally have to offer . keep it simple ,no upsell no pro , no prp ,no extras. wish them a good day and tell them to stay safe.

But what ever you do dont take your anger out on them. The world doesn't need that right now.
