Game Event Promo Crossovers

Man... I'm sure there are plenty of games that could do this, but Square could make a killing by dropping Final Fantasy Tactics on Sale right now. FFRK (Final Fantasy Record Keeper) is running a Final Fantasy Crossover Event, and just hearing the music from the game (And seeing familar faces / battles) has me jonsing to play it again... but there's no way I'm going to drop $15 on a game I'm only wanting to play on impulse (And thus am unlikely to complete). But if they dropped it to at least half off... that enters impulse territory.

ARE there any games Like FFRK that run similar events, where their publishers are sharp enough to take advantage of that?
