Opinions on setting dev.i915.perf_stream_paranoid to 0?

What do people think of adding dev.i915.perf_stream_paranoid=0 to /etc/sysctl.d/*.conf? Unsure if have to run sysctl -p after that. Have definitely noticed improved graphical performance.
