Samsung chromebook Pro with GalliumOS can't read SD card in ext4

I put the microSD card in the slot, used Gparted to make it ext4 format (also tried FAT32) but the computer won't notice I inserted a card. I can't find it anywhere and doesn't seem to recognize I inserted it.
someone knows how to fix this?
