I love this phone so far and would buy it again if I had to do it over.
The battery is a beast, I got over 8 hours of screen on time (mainly streaming video) yesterday and still had 20% battery.
The display is gorgeous even at 1080P the 120 Hz continues to impress me even days later.
The cameras are fantastic even if they are a little too contrasty in my opinion (And that's from someone who normally bumps up the contrast.). Even the 100x zoom is neat even if it looks like I just took a pic on my 2004 flip phone.
It does have its downsides tho. Some are simple that Samsung could easily fix and I would love it if they did.
$1,400 is a lot for a phone. I liked the product enough to pay it and stand by it, but I remember a time when we used to look down on Apple for being so expensive while we got better phones for less money. Now even the standard S20 is 1k? I would still probably opt for the top of the line model, but I feel like the S series should have something under 1k.
Only select countries get cases. I paid a lot for my phone and want it to have a quality case, and some of the better cases are not out at the launch, so I by a cheap case until mine comes in. It annoys me that some regionsĀ includeĀ a case in the box, even if it is cheap. They are already producing them. They are making those cases super cheap, it would be nice if that was standard.
Color options. I slap a case on mine, so it doesn't affect me too much, but walking into a store and seeing phones in so many different colors while the S series gets 2-3 color options "really grinds my gears." Black or Grey for the ultra, really? At least let the whole line get the same color options, hell I might have got a purple one like the flip comes in if they had it.
Pre packages headphones. I haven't used the 3.5 mm jack in a while, so it didn't affect me too much, but it was nice to have it if I needed it for some reason. Removing it kind of sucked, it's a common practice now, but to include USB C headphones pisses me off for some reason. Maybe its the price point or maybe it's that we shouldn't have to choose between charging the phone or using headphones. Wireless earbuds shouldĀ beĀ the standard, the didn't have to be the or even the older buds, they could have made an inexpensive wireless version and I would feel less cheated.
You may agree with some of these things or call me a dumb ass for some of these thoughts, that's fine, but what are some of the things you would like to see in the future or would have liked to haveĀ seenĀ at this launch?
