Today was my first full day on the S6 and man...that "cell standby" battery issue certainly was a thing. When I finally broke down and plugged it in, I checked my stats and had a total of 2.2 hours of SOT since coming off battery this morning. 2.2 hours of actual use (i made or took no calls today), and 14% battery to show for it. Oh and for about 3/4 of the day the thing was sitting on WiFi at home.
Now I know the battery measurements need to calibrate but the 40% cell standby figure should be accurate even if the total overall remaining isn't perfect yet. I travel a lot and don't think this will cut it, even with fast charging.
For the folks following the many android forums, I'm on vzw and yes yesterday I formatted cache, yes I factory reset (before an after formattng cache...yesterday was fun), and yes i've activated the HD voice thing.
To me this seems clearly a bug with how the phone handles borderline 4G LTE SnR. I'm surrounded by strong LTE signal but right at my house it can be a bit wonky (used to that from my prior s4, and before that the HTC Thunderbolt).
Anyways while I think the N6 is a bit big for my uses, this S6 might soon find itself back at the store and replaced with a nice new nexus. I hate to loose the S6 camera and I do like the screen, but man it leaks mAh like a sieve.
