Any way to get lock screen widgets with a pattern lock?

I'm on a an AT&T S3 with the 4.3 OS. I've been trying to get the NiLS lock screen widget to work, but it seems as though there's a dichotomy. I can either have the widget on my lock screen and only use the swipe lock or use the default lock screen and have a pattern lock. I'd like to have both security and customization, but that doesn't seem available. I tried WidgetLocker but I don't really like it. Is there any way I can get security and customization?
