Is there a way to remove the Lock Screen edit?

When I go to unlock my phone, I place my thumb on the fingerprint sensor to unlock it, and sometimes it prompts me to edit my Lock Screen. Is there a way to remove this? Or do I have to up the sensitivity or something? Not sure I guess I leave it pressed for a second too long? Thanks anyway.
