I just transferred all of my data over from my S21 Ultra to an S23 Ultra. Everything seems to be in order except on Google messages. None of the images sent via text are showing as anything other than a black box. When I try to save them on the new phone it says they have been saved, but they are not in my gallery.

I can live with this issue as most photos I wanted to keep I have already saved, however the main issue is that when I send someone a text in our previous text conversation their response starts a new conversation. Would prefer not to start entirely new messaging threads with everyone if possible, any ideas?

Update: Just looked on Samsung messages out of curiosity and neither of these issues are happening there.
