I don't remember this being an issue when I had the S22 Ultra, and it definitely wasn't an issue with the Pixel 7 Pro I just happily upgraded from, but it's an issue I have now.
I took the time to make some Do Not Disturb profiles that was I was excited about using. I can manually exclude most apps no problem, but, on the Pixel, you can manually exclude specific notification categories by long-pressing the notification.
This is kind of a problem because when setting up the DND profiles, not all apps are present. What specifically prompted this post is that I can't exclude "Samsung Capture" from being hidden when DND is active. This means if I have DND turned on and I take a screenshot, I can't access the notification for it at all.
That's problematic, and that's just one app. There are other apps where I still need certain notification categories excluded while still wanting other notifications in the app to be blocked.
I've been on a Pixel for a few months (I do not recommend), so maybe I'm forgetting something now that I'm back on a Galaxy.
So my questions are:
- Is it possible to include or exclude specific notification categories for certain apps when setting up DND?
- Is there a reason why I can't seem to exclude some system-level apps (e.g., Samsung Capture) in my DND profiles?
Any help or insight would be GREATLY appreciated. I got really excited with how much more powerful Focus Mode and Bixby Routines are compared to the S22 Ultra (and Routines are basically non-existent on Pixel), but now Do Not Disturb seems to have taken a step backwards.
I may ultimately just opt out of DND and use app restrictions (Focus Mode) exclusively to block notifications I don't want...
