Has anyone had the touch screen issues caused by a phone case?

I'm wondering if this is a coincidence or not. But I just got my Samsung S20 FE about a month ago, and notice that intermittently the touch screen starts glitching out. It began almost immediately after I got my case for the phone. I just bought one of those cheap cases from Amazon. The one that has a soft rubber-like inner core, and a hard plastic outer that snaps over the rubber.

Randomly, it won't respond well to scrolling motions, or won't allow me to put in my passcode pattern to unlock my phone. Like it's not picking up my touch all the way. As if something else is touching the phone in another place. If I press the plastic away from the edge of my phone a bit, (Cheap case, the plastic is kind of flexible) the problem goes away. Recently while it was acting particularly glitchy, I very carefully removed the case, as to not touch any side buttons or the screen. The problem resolved. Then, I very carefully put the case back on, and started messing around. The problem came back. This probably happened 2 more times before it resolved and hasn't come back in a couple of days.

What are the chances my plastic phone case is interfering with my touch screen? Static electricity is the only thing I can think of that could cause this.

Or, is this just the touch screen issues that are common in this model, and it just coincidentally resolves itself after removing the case?
