GalCiv 1 worth it when owning all of the others?

Hi! I own all of the other GalCivs. I loved GC2 and 3 and I'm playing GC4 now.

The things I like the most are tech trees and quests with flavoured text/story ('found this xeno thing, develop that weird technology to investigate more..', 'boom, new thing on space, build cool thing to exploit the new thing and then you discover awesonium').

Does GalCiv 1 offer these two things in a good quantity/quality to justify buying and playing it even when I have more modern versions? I don't mind graphics, I love to read and use my imagination.
