I love my son. But I will never hide a body or cover up a murder for him. We teach him accountability and compassion and kindness. I know he won’t end up being a BL. But if he were to shock me and kill someone the last thing I would want as a parent is for him to be on the run for the rest of his life or killing himself in a swamp. We’d get a lawyer. Plead out for a deal. Mourn. Grieve. But have a path forward. A horrible, awful, sad path, but one where my son took accountability for his actions. I would be there with him through every step of it. He turns 3 on Monday and we already talk about how choices have consequences and those conversations won’t ever stop happening.
