Yeah I'm not going to lie, fuck education. It is a hella demanding major because you can't have a regular job (no 9 to 5's for you) unless it's a night shift because they force you to work at an actual school for an unpaid internship. You live too far away and you expect some leeway from your professors? Go fuck yourself because if you're late a lot because of how horrible traffic is, you fail the entire year. And guess what? I'm failing because I live one hour away from the school they assigned me to. i TRIED to explain that traffic exists and I live a whole hour away, but they did not budge. I misplaced my attendance sheet (literally turned my house upside trying to find it) to prove that yeah I was late to a lot of days (Even waking up early means nothing because traffic takes forever to get through) but I LOST IT AND NOW IT'S GONNA LOOK SO HORRIBLE ON ME cause now it's like a convenient excuse that i suddenly lost it right when they ask me to show it to them. I love teaching kids, I do. I love helping people. I love making people feel like I'm helping them. I like interacting with kids and shit. But I'm on the verge of failing my major and the workload they give for homework is also nonstop even with the required unpaid internships.
I know i'm being whiny af this is why it's a vent. I hate myself for fucking up so hard and I hate that this major just proved to me that being an actual teacher is a shit job. I'm basically near the end of my junior year. I wanna switch my major to literally anything that can just guarantee me a job that isn't fucking education. I'd be happy with anything else. Is it too late to switch my major? Will that mess up my financial aid? Will I have to repeat junior year over??? I'm sorry I'm basically having a mental breakdown over this. Just give me any advice cause I am at the end of my rope.
First time making grown up decisions can be super stressful. Just relax and trust your gut, change majors if need by & sit down with a counselor about where credits can be trasnferred
