I have seen a lot of posts about people struggling with weight gain and I’m just making this post to relate and share some of my experience. Man it’s a hard ride I went from 140lb at 18y/o to 235lb at 25. it’s constant eating when your not hungry, it’s constantly going to the gym minimum of 4x a week and doing heavy lifts with long holds. It took me so long, but I changed my body type completely there were months where I would gain less then a pound and days where I would look at the scale 3-4 times a day dying if I saw any significant weight loss. I kept saying I would be happy if I was a-little bigger over and over with my original goal at 180lb but it was never enough. It was set backs, injury’s, blown disks and more holding me back and setting me months behind with every mistake. The big thing to remember is to keep pushing. In total I hardly gained 1lb of mass a month but over time it built up. You can’t expect to go to the gym as a small kid and come out as Hercules in a short time it’s a grueling horrible effort but let me tell you getting the double takes from old friends and classmates years later, looking back at old photos of yourself and seeing where you are now is the best reward. Keep pushing keep believing, do it because you want it for you and nothing else, but most of all be safe. If I could go back I’d save myself so many injury’s. They set you back so so far. Just give yourself time push yourself but don’t get cocky and slow your progress. It’s small victory’s to win the battle.
