Hey Reddit, a few years ago I went to the gym with a friend who pushed me too hard resulting in spraining both elbows. I didn't tear the tendon, but I did some damage and couldn't extend my forearms for a while.
The other day trying to get into it I was doing some bicep curls. I was only doing 6kg and gave up on the 6th rep of the third set because I just couldn't hack it and didn't want to injure myself. This time, I really thought I was being cautious but I woke up yesterday unable to extend my forearms so it seems I must still have some long term weakness in these tendons.
Obviously I still want to train my biceps, but I'm wondering whether anyone can recommend a safer alternative to bicep curling? Would an exercise that incorporates more muscle groups be better, or should I just start off with much lower weights?
