So idk if I'm the only one that feels this way but I wish the story wasn't so suddenly fast paced and clunky.
Like I liked the start of the story up until we get to Never Isle where suddenly we get acquainted with all these characters by pretty much going on a scavenger hunt. Honestly I would've much rather liked it if they went the Soul Societ arc from bleach or the 12 Houses arc from Saint Seiya since that's the vibe I initially got when Vundo 1st was introduced but that never happend so ok.
But then we go to the Earth Nexus and they just press on the accelerator at that point. Everything happened so fast. The introductions to Bernard and his fellow shadowhunters was quick and wasn't expanded on at all, Moon literally dies in the span of like 2 minutes (if you take out the fight), and we barely get any chance to process all of this since the trio immediately go to Everson (or was it Elyssian?).
Then after that we go through that bug sewer arc that feels like pretty much filler. And at the very end we meet Rand, pretty much the poster boy of Gyee (second to Priapus before Alcander and Lee stole that title), which honestly was pretty much a let down and one of my biggest disappointments. He only appears for what seems like a minute, you help him fight some boars, he takes Hou in, that's it. You never see him again in the main story. Then it's off to the next Nexus.
But then out of nowhere we are hit with a big time skip. Suddenly we are supposed to know these random characters, we suddenly are introduced to the main villain even tho the game treats us like we knew them for a while now, the Nekojishi cats are central characters, and a whole lot more. Then after those several long chapters we return to the actual main story. If this doesn't constitute whiplash I dont know what does.
Guess what I'm trying to say is I wouldnt mind if GYEE did a whole rework with its story to make it clear and concise while also being decently paced. Coming from a game like Housamo which is story is pretty well written (if not complicated at times) and enjoyable, I expected a little more from Gyee. Oh well maybe one day the creator will hand over the rights to somebody (to me hopfully) and that somebody will do the story justice.
I still like the game, there is great potential in it but the way its handled makes my hopes crumble at times.
