Portraying a siren is probably as close to playing a mermaid as I'll ever come. 🌊 Hear me lead an adventurous sailor down the path of desire...
The script was penned by u/Lord_Bartex some time ago and came my way when we were discussing “dangerous ladies” around a different project. (Only the script paste is available at this time; a public offer may be forthcoming.)
Also, many thanks to u/Iroebucks for narrating the sailor's prologue, an excerpt of which I include below for context.
🎧 “Hear me, lone sailor, for I am all you desire...” {19:18}
“It is said that every story stems from a source of truth. Sometimes the truth shines through the tale like a bright star on a dark sky. Other times it is dissolved into fantasy, scattered like the pieces of a wrecked ship in a raging storm.
Some stories are meant to soothe the hearts of yearning souls, while others are meant to strike fear into the very core of the reckless. Tales of love; Tales of hate; Tales of death and life...Those who seek to solve the mystery of the world's oldest stories may find it hard to retain their sanity while doing so.
...Everyone warned me against going here. I don't know what my fate will be after this point. The last part of my journey begins at dawn.”
~ Unsigned note discovered by the coast of Capri, 1834
Time stamps: in case you want to skip the singing
Sailor's prologue: start thru 1:50 | the Siren's song: 1:55 | summoning him: 3:25 | ensnaring him with story: 3:55
Another time with an unlucky ending: “Song of Eurydice” (no singing)
