“Okay, Boomer.”

I looked towards the older male standing next to me as I spoke to him. The word “older” was an understatement. He was born back in what they called the 20th century, so incredibly long ago that almost everything had been forgotten about that time. We weren’t even sure why his people were called “Boomers.” The theory was that it had to do with their love of blowing things up through wars and other violence. Somehow, I’d never gotten around to asking him yet.

He didn’t look as old as he should have for someone of his age from that primitive time. We’d managed to retrieve him from the time stream right before he would have died at the same time as ninety-five percent of the rest of the human race. Then we’d treated his old age as we would any other disease until he just looked old instead of ancient. Normal people today didn’t age like they did in his time. We’re content to look young and be healthy our entire lives.

I pointed at the vault in front of me. This dated back to his time, and had only recently been unearthed by our archaeologists. It was what his people had called the Absolute Repository of Knowledge, or ARK for short, although we weren’t sure if “ARK” was supposed to mean anything else. As I said before, a lot of knowledge had been lost in the Big Boom.

But here it all was. And this Boomer was the key.

Full Script Here

Inspired by archaeology movies, like the Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider movies. There's also some inspiration taken from the Stargate tv shows, where they often explored ancient ruins from other civilizations and had to solve puzzles they had little to no context for. There's also some reference to current generational divides, although it's meant more for humor and story-telling than any kind of commentary or criticism. It's a bit long, but hopefully that doesn't keep people from enjoying it.

Please do not tag any content makers in the comments. If they are meant to record this, they will find it on their own and make their own call.
