When Persephone ate six seeds of the pomegranate Hades offered her, she thought that was the pact she was sealing - a guarantee that she would be with her husband, always. Alas, the gods of Olympus and her meddlesome mother had other plans, and so for six months of the year, the lovers are parted. But on the first day of autumn, Persephone returns home to her Hades.

I’ve had the idea of Persephone returning to Hades in my head for over a year, and I’m so glad I got to team up with u/Apiary_ to finally bring it to life. We share a love of mythology, and an enthusiasm for characters who *yearn*. Having chatted about starcrossed lovers who will hold a torch for what feels like eternity, we figured what better pair than the King and Queen of the Underworld, who are doomed to always spend half the year apart?
B, thank you so much for working with me on our retelling of this myth. These characters exist so fully for me because of talking through them with you, and this script would not have been the same without your influence.
