Summary: The listener is an ambassador to the garangula, a species evolved from something a little like insects, who have a rigid caste system based on specialized body forms within the species’ society similar to different kinds of ants within a colony. The member of the royal caste they meet with appears to be cruel and haughty, but appearances can be deceiving…

NOTE: I could not come up with a proper CW for this, but I feel like it needs to be addressed. The story opens with one speaker treating the other like dirt in a not-sexy way. There are reasons, and everybody is okay at the end.
