Hi there, everyone! I've been a lurker for a long time here, and I thought I'd finally dip my toe and join. Writing is a long-term hobby of mine, and has been for most of my life, but this format is relatively new. I chanced across some audios, looked into some creators and eventually got pointed to here and the possibilities of scriptwriting. The amazingly creative and thrilling works I’ve read and listened to have inspired me to give this a shot!
I have a wide variety of tastes, though most of my scripts so far that I've written as practice seem to lean towards historical and modern scenarios. I like to have a touch of humour and / or strong emotional bonds or tensions between the characters. Though I appreciate a classic theme done well, I frequently go for unusual and offbeat story concepts in my own work, and sometimes indulging relatively obscure kinks. I have some scripts ready to go, which I’ll start posting soon. I'd be thrilled if people enjoy reading them, even more so if they get adapted.
But before I start posting them, I have some questions I'd like to check. Some of them might be obvious, but I'm always nervous about getting things just right when I join a new community, and want to be 100% sure.
1: I've heard people say that a 2000-word script is the sweet spot, at least for getting it adapted. How true would you say that is? Mine so far are 1500-3000 words, with one that clocks in at just below 4000 (which I plan to split into a two-parter).
2: One thing I've considered doing with audios in a modern setting is to include some alternate "with condom / without condom" lines, generally just a couple of differing lines per script, and then letting the performer decide which to use. Good idea?
3: From what I've observed, I've been tagging my scripts like this example:
[F4M] [Script Offer] [Historical: 1945] [Soldier’s Homecoming] [Soldier & War Bride] [Sweethearts Reunited] [Vanilla] [Romance] [Passionate Reunion] [So Glad You’re Alive] [Striptease] [Classy Teasing] [Reassurance] [L-Bomb] [Female Virginity] [Oral] [Cowgirl] [Missionary] [Mutual Orgasms] [Possible Impreg] [Starting A New Life Together]
Target audience, a description of the characters, general themes of the script, and a chronological list of sex acts. It's not in here, but any potential trigger-warning stuff would also be listed as a tag. Did I miss anything?
4: This is the format for performer guidelines, that I'd put before each script. Again, did I miss anything obvious?General Notes:( ) denotes non-verbal utterances, and suggestions for tone of voice.
[ ] denotes sounds and background ambience, as well as descriptions of actions to help the performer visualise a scene. All SFX are optional unless noted otherwise--use some, all or none of them as you prefer.
CAPS denote an emphasised word.
If you want to adapt this script, feel free to adjust or tinker with it as you see fit. If you have a major change in mind, you can let me know and I'll see about creating a new version of the script that's more in line with what you'd like.
If you do want to use my script and / or post a performance of it outside of this community, drop me a message or flag me in a comment. It usually won't be a problem, I just like to keep track of where my work is ending up and know that one of my scripts was chosen!
Feedback and comments in general are highly welcome!
5: I'm very new to posting in Reddit, I literally joined to post here. Compared to performers, who are the public face and need to keep a high profile, how important is self-publicity for a writer? Any advice on not being lost in the crowd, and catching a reader's attention for long enough for them to read the script?
And to put some teasers out there, my current scripts that are ready or underway include:
"Sweethearts are reunited after WW2."
"Mile High Club with a 60's Pan Am air hostess."
"A tense chess match, with stripping and sexy penalties whenever a piece is lost."
"Greek goddesses compete to be declared the Fairest."
"A female wrestler gets into character as the bad guy with your help as her ‘kidnap victim’."
"Two high-class escorts compete to prove to a client who's the sexiest."
"Your ex's mother / younger sister wants to console you after you got dumped."
"In the American Civil War, a female soldier's disguise is rumbled by a prostitute."
"Lady duelist challenges the scoundrel who dishonoured her friend, but finds the tables quickly turned."
"Furtive and wicked encounter in the confessional booth with a Catholic schoolgirl."
If there's one that you'd like to see first (after a last round of polishing and error-checking), I'll be happy to oblige! :-)
So thank you for reading all that, hope I didn't go on too long, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of my work!
