Describe your personal rules for writing
Post Body

When coming up with a script, are there any particular storytelling "rules" you adhere to? Perhaps a writing methodology you subscribe to?

I don't necessarily mean this in terms of "avoiding certain kinks." Yes, technically that falls under the purview of "rules." But I'm referring more to guidelines you may set for yourself in terms of establishing setting, tone, characterization, moving the story along (aka getting to "the good part" and beyond), etc.
