SYNOPSIS: You (the listener) are planning a quiet night at home while your parents are out at the theater and your sister and her best friend (the speaker) go out to the dance club for the evening. You find your sister’s friend in the house with you as she waits for your sister to drive back for the weekend from State university. You two get to talking, and somehow the conversation drifts toward how it feels to be sexy, and what it means to FEEL sexy, particularly as a girl. Your sister’s friend intuitively senses that you’re interested in trying cross-dressing, and you admit to her you’re not sure if you’re trans or not. After your sister calls and says she’s not going to make it into town after all because of an accident blocking the freeway, your sister’s friend gently convinces you to try dressing up like a woman to see how it feels. She encourages you to shave your legs, and shows you how, and gets you several things to try, including silicone breast inserts, a wig, and some makeup, which she applies for you. When you’re all dressed up, she encourages you to give in to the idea of “feeling sexy” and to touch yourself, while she joins you in a short round of mutual masturbation. In the end, this becomes a very honest and open conversation of woman-hood, trans-ness, and acceptance as both of you learn a few things about both yourselves and each other. Without even realizing it, she gives you the ultimate gift—the feeling of belonging. “Let’s be girls together,” she says… and so you are. WARNING: This is a very honest script in terms of how a conversation like this might happen. It includes all the missteps and awkwardness, tiptoeing around language, and many other challenges that the exploration of gender identity can bring about, but ultimately, this is about two very kind people who are trying their best to connect with each other. And they succeed. This is NOT meant to exemplify or be prescriptive for anyone else’s trans experience.
