I've got a cool idea for a script that features both a female and a male character with dialogue. The sex part would only be between the female and the listener - the male character is there for storytelling and immersion enhancement.
I typically spend a very long time drafting and tweaking my scripts, so I was hoping for some advice before jumping in.
I really want the performers who undertake the script to have the satisfaction of having a decent number of upvotes/listens for their post. Especially considering the technical and logistical trouble that doing a collab entails.
With this in mind, would you suggest that I continue writing the script as planned, or do you think I would be better off rewriting the same idea but as a female monologue ie. cutting the male out? I'm especially interested to hear from anyone with first hand experience, but any opinions are welcome.
Concerns:
Script may not be picked up due to the added difficulty of collab.
FM4? scripts don't seem to do as well as F4?, speaking in terms of upvotes and play count.
I know that ideally, I should ignore these factors and just write what I want to write. But I also understand that it can be disheartening to performers to not receive any listens for something that has been laborious to produce.
As far as what I am losing by dropping the male actor... it would mean the female performer would have to monologue extensively to set up the scenario in a way that would not seem as "natural".
