No, that’s not the problem. The problem is how you reacted to it.
You did the same things you did just now. You know what I mean. Darling, you put yourself down. Again. You called yourself clumsy, klutzy, useless. You called yourself ugly and stupid.
You do that every time you make a little mistake. So often, I think you don’t even realise it. I think it’s a reflex to blame yourself, and it has been for a long time.
And I don’t like that. So I’m going to break you of those bad habits.

Your girlfriend keeps putting herself down and highlighting her worst qualities. She always brushes it off as a joke, but it’s become quite distracting and unwelcome for you. When she takes the submissive role in the bedroom, she’s fully expecting you to degrade and talk down to her, but you have something entirely different in mind. It might actually be harder for her to say than putting herself down, but you want her to praise herself. It’s hard for her to get the words out and push back against the habits of a lifetime, but you’re persuasive—and she won’t have any relief from being edged until she finally breaks down and praises herself!
