We talked, we chatted, but it didn’t matter what we were saying. I was only confirming what I already knew.
She was a good girl. Had a husband, who was a good man who treated her right...in the few hours they had when he wasn’t at work or asleep, that is.
She was a fine, upstanding member of her community who went to church, who went to a book club or fundraisers with the other good wives.
But she wasn’t satisfied. There was a hunger there, for something she never even had a name for.
She wondered, if I’m being such a good girl, why does it feel like there’s...something more? Why doesn’t this feel like enough?
And somehow, she heard rumours. Maybe read a book that a woman like her wasn’t meant to have. Heard a whisper that there were some of “THOSE WOMEN” in her city, and the name of a place where they met.
And she came here.
Set in the 1950’s, public repression of homosexuality was rife, but for a woman who needed to truly express herself, there were still places to go. The narrator tells a tale of how she seduced one such woman, a naïve ingénue who was unable to resist her own curiosity and dipped her toes into the secretive and alluring world of the Lesbian. She would get everything she dreamed of, and many things she couldn’t have imagined...

My Unfilled Scripts & Fills Of My Scripts
This is inspired by pulp novels of the 50’s through to the 70’s recounting the exploits of those wild and reckless women who loved other women, and the wide-eyed innocents they caught in their web of seduction and forbidden love. They ranged from earnest semi-autobiographical accounts of women who just didn’t fit in to cheap titillation, but were still a piece of representation (however limited) in an oft-hostile world.
It's also my 100th script for GWA, as chosen by my followers. Hope you enjoy it!
