"The Log Driver's Waltz", written and composed by Wade Hemsworth. Performed by Kate and Anna McGarrigle and Mountain City Four.
First of all, thank you for clicking on this post about a song which, unless you're a Canadian of a certain age, you've probably never heard of. It was played on the CBC fairly often...I want to say at the end of each broadcast day, but I also remember seeing it played at times when a normal child would be awake. Check it out on youtube if you're interested, because the accompanying video contained both historical footage and animation, and I thought it was pretty neat back in the day. So yeah, it's an out-of-left-field pick for karaoke, but Open Mic month is maybe the best time for it. When you're done here, head on over there and find out what others have sung, or are planning to sing.
Anyway, it's a fun, sweet song, and I hope you enjoy it.
