Scriptwriter here, when I write scripts I try to format them in such a way that it conveys things a VA might need to know to perform the idea in my head, notes I leave about what's happening in the scene often have to do with sound effects I would like them to include. Increasingly when I write scripts though, I wonder if a VA looks at the way I write things and would have preferred me to do things differently?
For instance, as a VA do you prefer a script to have a concrete vision for the character and scene or to leave it open enough for you to bring your own spark to it?
Do you prefer notes about what sounds are going on or would more elaborate descriptions of what is going on in the scene clarify better how to act?
What else strikes you about scripts that you're considering doing fills of that you would prefer done differently?
Anything you can share will help a lot 😊
