Hello Backstage!
Recently, I seen u/ChiLittleWolf make a questionnaire for the scriptwriters in the community, so I was curious about hearing from the VAâs of the community as well so that writer's can get some insight from behind the microphone! I don't want to feel like I copied her, but the questions she asked were very insightful and also made me think of questions I'd like to know more about VA and get a different perspective!
I'm sure this isn't the first one to exist, but whatever! Answer the questions you want, don't answer the ones you don't, you do you! Feel free to reorder them however you want too or even add some if you like! Looking forward to getting to know you all better as well as help showcase you a bit more in the community and maybe make some new friends along the way =D. Please tag me or put a link in the comments so I get notified that you answered.
Also might be a fun thing to answer and pin to your sub or userpage to help answer some common or uncommon questions scriptwriters might have in regards to how you chose the scripts you work on ...no obligation to do that of course!
Onto the questions!!!
- What was your first script you ever filled? (Feel free to link it!)
- Whatâs your most viewed fill? (Feel free to link it!)
- Is there a script you are secretly pining to fill or wish would be filled? (Feel free to link it!)
- Do you have a âfavoriteâ script you filled? What drew you to it? (Feel free to link it!)
- How many fills do you currently have?
- Is there a Genre/Tag you want to fill but havenât yet? Any reason why?
- Do you like it when listeners tag you or other VAs they want to see fill a certain script?
- What sort of Tags/Genres do you tend to gravitate towards? What draws you to those above others?
- Are there Tags/Genres you will never explore? Any particular reason? (Share if you want)
- If you put SFX in your audios, is there an expectation for links to be provided from the writer? Are there SFX you will stay clear of no matter what?
- How much SFX is âtoo muchâ? Whatâs the hardest SFX youâve added and why was it so hard?
- Do you like when writerâs help set/direct the scene for you? (Ex: You are walking in a park)
- Do you like having directions as to how you should sound? (Ex: Scared, Surprised, Disappointed)
- Do you like having more freedom with a script to add your own thoughts, feelings and expression, or are you more âwhatâs written is writtenâ?
- How do you prefer people to reach out to you if they have questions about your audios, collabs or script offers?
- Do you like sneak peeks when a writer makes a script or do you prefer to gain access when itâs posted?
- Whatâs the biggest piece of advice you can give writers who want you to fill their scripts?
- Whatâs the biggest tip you have for new VAâs starting out?
- What sort of items would you recommend VAâs invest in when first starting out? Whatâs the first upgrade to the setup you recommend?
- If there was something you could go back and tell your beginning self, what would it be?
- Whatâs your favorite part about being a VA?
- How long have you been a VA/doing VA work?
- Have you considered performing more SFW/NSFW/ASMR or anything else VA related?
- Whatâs the most challenging performance youâve ever done?
- What platform do you use for your audio?
- Is there a feature on these platforms that you would like to see but isn't available?
- Have you experienced performance anxiety? How did you overcome it?
- Do you have any mentors, someone you look up to or wish to be more like in the community?
- Do you ever get tired of performing?
Hey thanks for taking the time to get through the post! Thanks for all you do for the community and taking some time to answer these silly questions...keep on performing and know we appreciate everything you do for us writers!
